Since our opening in 2007, HR Associates' Clientele has increased seven fold. We attribute our success to our President, Heather Risner. Having 20 years experience in the western Ohio Staffing Industry, she knows people, all of them.

Our business reputation depends on courteous and professional placement of experienced associates with our Clients. An Associate's credentials have been thoroughly referenced and checked before being offered a position. Our Associate Cooperative is the best in the Upper Miami Valley.

HR Associates' offers Temporary Employees, Temp-to-Hire, Direct Hire, Contract Hire, and Payrolling. We process all payroll checks, W2's, all taxes, and employer related insurances.

President and CEO, Heather Risner started her staffing career in 1992, here in Piqua. One of Heather's favorite quotes, from her first Boss, Betty S., is "If you leave at the end of the day worn out, you've done your job for that day." She is critical of every aspect of her business and expects excellence from her staff. Managing a Staffing Firm, from 2003-2007, gave Heather her "By the Book" and "Customer First" direction which has catapulted her company forward. Being an active member of the Piqua Area Chamber of Commerce , has reinforced her relationship with many local businesses. Heather and Steve were married in 1994 and have 3 boys. She follows many of her children's extra-curricular activities and sporting events. Heather believes, "Friends are my extended family." Heather loves to read and volunteer at her church in Piqua.

Darke County native, Michelle Jenkinson (MJ) began her HR career in April 2010. HR was growing and needed another Customer Service Representative. MJ , being our receptionist, is an integral part of our business. She is the first and last person anyone sees when they grace our door. MJ loves to read, and recently, she has been decorating her new home.

Co-owner, Steve Risner joined day-to-day operations in November of 2011. He moved to Miami County in 1989, to join the sales staff at Roberds Furniture. His sales career continued at Francis Furniture from 2000 to 2011. Steve has been in sales for 25 years and is excited to bring HR Associates his expertise in Customer Service and Sales Knowledge. Technology based marketing is one of his strong suites. Steve married Heather in 1994 and they have three sons. He enjoys supporting and mentoring his sons and spending time with Heather R. Steve loves country music and traveling our Great Nation.

  1. Location?
    We are off I-75 Exit 82, Piqua. East on Ashe Street, across the Great Miami River, to the 3rd traffic light after crossing the river, left on Wayne Street. We are on the right.
  2. Do I have to have an appointment?
    We recommend an appointment to guarantee exceptional service.
  3. Do I have to have Manufacturing experience?
    Most of our clients are light industrial and 3-6 months experience is required. We do look at anyone with construction or general labor qualifications, too.
  4. Do you work with someone with a felony conviction?
    Absolutely no one with violent crimes or crimes against another person need apply. If the offense is 7-10 years old, we will look at the resume.
